Lamiacea House

Creating and Tending a Family Altar and/or Shrine

Lamiacea House was created to support families in need of establishing wellness and spiritual ritual practices for their households. Based on your lineage and ancestral needs, we support you in creating and tending to your familial altars and shrines.

Although you do not need special permission to connect with your blood ancestors. Creating a shrine that houses other ancestral spirits does take considerable knowledge and wisdom. We approach these relationships by first strengthening the person responsible for creating and maintaining the shrine - you.

We begin by first creating/strengthening a personal altar for the "keeper of the house." This is done to firmly reconnect with the protection of your own Soul.

We then establish the most basic communication and allow your practice time to develop organically.

At first this many of the steps may seem mundane. This groundwork is important and must not be skipped.

We also want to make sure to take the right precautions are taken as this can affect the health and wellbeing of your entire household.

To get started with us, schedule a clarity session.

Is this for you?

Family Matters

Having a family altar and/or a shrine can be a major responsibility.

It can also be a place of comfort, a place for renewal, and a sacred space to deepen one's relationship with themselves as well as their departed ancestors.

Before you get started, ask yourself why you want to re-establish a connection with those who have transitioned. Your reasons are important.

We recommend you start by creating a simple memory altar.

For many people, this is enough.

A memory altar is a dedicated place in your home where you keep memories of those who have gone before you. It may be a simple photo, or a series of photos. It may be a special furniture owned by your great-grandparents may years ago.  If you don't already have one, here are some tips to get you started.

  • Gather photographs and other personal belongings that hold positive memories
  • Allocate a special place just for those items
  • Keep it simple and friendly
  • Connect with your ancestors by simply greeting them in your heart silently
  • You may want to keep a bowl of water as libation and/or light a candle (optional)
  • Choose holidays and/or one day per week for special attention
  • Always keep the area clean and free of clutter
  • Keep a journal of your experiences
  • If anything feels off or gives you "bad vibes", don't use it

If after creating a simple memory altar, you still feel deeply guided to do more, reach out for a clarity session.
